The main aim of an energy audit is to assess all aspects of a commercial building's energy usage, asses its energy efficiency performance and identify business energy savings.
The audit can also include an infrared survey using a thermal imaging camera to identify areas of heat loss within the property or within specific equipment.
Following completion of the energy survey, an energy audit report is written which will summarise the finding.
These reports are extremely useful for understanding how the business can save both energy and expenditure.
The purposes of the report are to enable:
• Greater understanding of high energy users within buildings e.g. core-plant, chillers, lighting.
• Understanding potential areas of energy wastage.
• Identify the energy baseload within the building.
• Highlight site specific recommendations to reduce energy consumption.
Typically, a survey will find between 10% and 15% of potential savings.
